Jodie Plumert
Dr. Jodie Plumert is the Russel B. and Florence D. Day Chair in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Iowa. She received her B.A. from Kalamazoo College in 1985 and her PhD from the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota in 1990. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Psychological Science (APS) and has received the Regents Award for Faculty Excellence from the University of Iowa. She is an associate director of the SAFER-SIM UTC at the University of Iowa and co-directs the Hank Virtual Environments Lab with Dr. Joe Kearney. The focus of her research is understanding how immature perceptual, motor, and cognitive skills put children at risk when crossing roads and how parents teach children to cross roads safely.
